Within our family we seem to go through batteries like water. The biggest culprits seem to be the little trains and cars they have with their train set, of course my digital camera, and the numerous remotes that we have stashed around the house.
So we devised a great way to save money, time and unnecessary trips to the convenience store. Invest in an Energizer™ Smart Charger battery charging station! This would definitely keep my kids tantrums at bay if they could see how long it will take until they can use their batteries again. The Energizer™ Smart Charger is definitely a must have in all homes.
Even though Energizer™ already has the *"world's longest lasting AA and AAA batteries in high tech devices" wouldn't it be smarter and more environmentally friendly if we started purchasing the reusable batteries? Their new Smart Charger gives more charges and a more reliable run time. The Energizer™ Smart Charger charges either 2 or 4 AA or AAA rechargeable batteries. It is Energy Star™-certified and has a large LCD screen display which gives a fuel gauge and a countdown clock. It also features a disposable and bad battery detector.
(recommended for ages 2 to 7 years)

We have all grown up watching Sesame Street and it is just as popular as ever. K'nex helps kids create These sets make great presents. It is recommended for ages 2 to 7, but honestly I think a 7 year old would get bored quickly with this set. Ages 2 to 5 would be ideal. 15 pieces makes up Ernie which comes in a convenient and cute storage case.
You can purchase separate characters include Cookie Monster, Oscar the Grouch, and Ernie. Or you can purchase sets such as Elmo and his Piano building set or Cookie Monster and Mr. Hoopers store and many more!
These sets are great because my 2 year old, has no problems in attaching the pieces together, although Ernie usually end up with his legs stuck in the arm holes. My 3 year old can assemble each of the characters properly, but she puts a lot of thought into which pieces will come next. It gives both my girls a sense of accomplishment when all the characters are put together. They also continue the fun after the sets are put together with pretend play.
My only gripe with the sets is that one of Ernies shoes seem to continuously fall off and needs to be constantly reconnected.

I recommend these sets and they seem to be great presents for any preschooler, and a big hit for birthday parties and make wonderful stocking stuffers.

Wanna buy it? Between their Polly pockets™, little people™ , puzzles, play food and Barbies™, they were all jumbled and thrown into a big toy box and the end of the day! That is where this great toy organizer came in. We opened the box and the colors were bright vibrant and all there. We decided right from the start that assembly would be much easier with the help of our screw gun. I could have put it together with a plain old screwdriver, but it would have taken at least 3-4 times as long. To assemble all you have to do is take a rod and place it in the sideboard and screw it together. Then repeat this 7 more times, then screw together the other side. It may have taken us all of ten minutes.

While we were putting this together we had our girls go thru the <s>junk</s> toy box and start putting all of their play food in one in one bin. Then they went on to the ponies, puzzles and so on. By the time we were done we still had more room for small toys in the organizer and all of their large toys were left to the toy box. It holds a huge amount of toys. It is also great how the bins are tilted so the kids can see all of their toys at one glance and not have to rummage through all of their toys before they find what they want to play with.

I am so happy we got this, my girls know that they can take one bin out at a time and when they are done playing with that, all the toys go back and they can take out another bin. It has cleared up the big jumbled mess and it is surprisingly sturdy and looks really good in my daughters room. This also comes in primary colors which would appeal to a boys room as well.

I recommend this to anyone who is having troubles trying to tackle all the little kid clutter, I could see it filled with matchboxes, toy animals, hair accessories, figurines and the list could go on and on!
</s>hmmmm1977http://www.blogger.com/profile/01507004276239003118noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-262862293964373637.post-27269618652296602452009-09-15T10:27:00.000-07:002009-09-15T10:41:03.752-07:00New Winners list!Congratulations Swtilchick
$15 Amazon™ Gift Card Giveaway!
Swtlilchick said...
Tweet:Swtlilchick
http://twitter.com/Swtlilchick/status/3966938737

SEPTEMBER 13, 2009 6:14 PM
______________________________________________________

Congratulations: saeddins262
you are the winner of the
$10 gift Starbucks™
Anonymous said...
I just subscribed. Listed as Peoples "Sexiest Man Alive" in 1991, he was adored by woman. Best known for his leading roles in Dirty Dancing and Ghost I think I have seen every one of his movies. I adored him and his sexy bad boy image, in the Outsiders, Point Break and Road house
This has made me terribly sad. I was the 14 year old who watched Dirty Dancing a million and one times. Sadly it has been confirmed that Patrick Swayze died today at the age of 57. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in early 2008. He was such a great actor and person He will be truly missed.hmmmm1977http://www.blogger.com/profile/01507004276239003118noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-262862293964373637.post-8987191804605614972009-09-11T07:07:00.000-07:002009-09-13T11:03:44.019-07:00Please help stop child abuse.<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 331px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgKflOEtruSNRsd6uhEhDiK4OE2fhis5S3CPplvzMdDNi0yuL-Tc48_ZLfvGb7Vf8UbbEhEM_WvjuW5uMQJPizhivp0bT8F3_L3huFX0JF_XXBJ3W1dj1MdHhVfJ0cral0S2SrDNeUscYw/s400/tear.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5381014264490044050" />
It breaks my heart to think of the helpless child out there who is has been abused and has no help available to them. There was some assembly, but nothing too difficult. Connecting to the t.v. is really easy and the cord is long enough to give some distance bet We set this up in Arianas bedroom with a small t.v. so we didn't take over the living room with toys. My daughter was not much of a bike rider before this, but what a change this toy has made! After about 2 days she could figure out how to get to click through to the different games and which direction the pedals should actually be going. Her favorite is the bus game where you pedal to collect the different numbers and letters.
This toy is great because it actually helped to teach my daughter how to ride her real bicycle properly. She learns her numbers and letters and animals and lots more. She isn't just plopped in front of the t.v. doing nothing, this actually promotes some exercise. It is great for rainy days when the children can't go outside and need something entertaining to do inside. Also this will grow with her for at least a few years since they have cute cartridges that can be purchased separately, like Dora the Explorer™, Hot Wheels™, Diego™, Spongebob™ Dinosaurs and Scooby Doo™. These cartridges also make this great for boys or girls, although my daughter loves all of these.
What I don't like about this toy, it runs on D batteries and although my batteries seem to last a long time, it really should come with an AC/DC plug. I would even buy it separate but it is not even an option. My sister also has this for her son and he absolutely loves this too, but in using this he actually broke the pedal. Fisher Price was quick to replace it though which made me even more confident in my purchase of this.
Overall I would say that although this toy is one of the more expensive toys they own, it was a great investment. I am happy we got it for them and their interest in this hasn't faded one bit.

hmmmm1977http://www.blogger.com/profile/01507004276239003118noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-262862293964373637.post-75936801366110319902009-09-05T12:08:00.000-07:002009-09-08T18:14:18.427-07:00Fisher-Price Power Wheels Toddler Series Girl's Lil Quad Review
We have had this Fisher Price toddler series girls lil quad (recommended ages 18-36months) for years now. We received it as a present from the grandparents for my Arianas 1st christmas (she is 3 1/2 now) and both my girls still enjoy using it. My daughters first time riding her lil quad she understood the concept. (Push the button and it moves) I don't think she grasped the idea of actually steering it until she was at least 2. So pretty much she would push the button and it would end up hitting a tree (doesn't go real fast), then she would turn it around with her feet until she would find something else to hit or we would turn her around so she didn't get out of our site or into trouble.
Charging this is a snap, the battery lifts right out of the seat and you bring it inside and plug it in. It does say that you need to charge this for 14 hours, so I would recommend getting another battery. Make sure you get a battery made for this model the larger Power wheels batteries will not fit this.
So I have had this for 2 3/4 years now. I have only had one battery the whole time and it still runs for about an hour each time. The colors have faded a little on the quad, but that is probably because sometimes we left it out in the sun. Now Kaitlyn our 2 year old is the main rider of this, although my 3 1/2 year old still takes her turn. This would be a very good investment for anyone to buy for their kids. It has gotten a lot of play and is very reasonably priced. You won't be disappointed.

hmmmm1977http://www.blogger.com/profile/01507004276239003118noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-262862293964373637.post-36751198821582328652009-09-03T08:56:00.000-07:002009-09-03T19:31:57.899-07:00Make Real Money from home...like I do!I am pretty sure that almost everyone has seen advertisements for making money at home by taking surveys. We have had these for a while now. When I first received them I realized that "Stickers" is a bit misleading. These are nothing like stickers, they are thick foam and definitely reusable with a really cute theme. 27 pieces in all, includes a 6 piece road which is put together like a puzzle. It even comes with some road signs. The vehicles include a train, school bus, ice cream truck, motorcycle and many more. It also is conveniently packaged in a suction cup mesh bag that can attach to the tub or tile wall, which is great for storing and drying out the pieces.
My daughters are anxious to take baths now thanks to these great toys. They love to piece together the track and will stay in the bath until I make them come out just playing different games. They stay on the bathroom wall really well and will stay there until you take them off. I have put them on the top rack of my dishwasher and they always come out sparkling! Any child that still plays with bath toys would love to have this set.
Now for the Give Away!
This giveaway is for a $15 Amazon gift certificate in the form of an E-Card, you will receive through your email that is redeemable for $15 off anything on Amazon.com. What a great retro toy, rereleased by radio-flyer, this toy is recommended for 2-5 years of age. The perfect age for my 2 girls. There is some assembly required for this toy, which drove my girls crazy since they wanted to play NOW! I should have assembled before they saw it, although it didn't take long to get it ready to roll.
My girls are great at sharing all toys with each other so they decided that Kaitlyn our 2 year old would go first. We brought the toy to out back to our patio and decided that it may be easier at first to play on the concrete, first, at least until our girls understood the concept of the toy. We tried to show our 2 year old how to bounce up and down and make it move, but the toy was overall very stiff, instead she just pushed it along with her feet.
My three year old understood what she needed to do to make it work before she got on the inchworm. So when it was her turn she tried to bounce up and down, and she was mostly unsuccessful as well. Each time she would bounce, it would literally go about an inch. She tried for a few minutes and then started to complain that her butt hurt. I understand why that would happen looking at the design of the seat and the fact that she was literally jumping in the air in order for it to move. My 3 year old weighs 33lbs and clearly didn't weigh enough to make this work. She too, began to push it along with her feet.
I thought this through and decided to enlist the neighbors twins to help us out with this (4 1/2 years old). They both took their turns and it did work a little bit better, but both of them looked to be way too old and tall to be riding on the toy.
We have now had this toy for a while and basically I wouldn't reccomend buying this for any child. My daughters do still ride on it, but have given up on bouncing. They prefer any other bike they have but running the daycare sometimes that is all that is available. It is a cute toy, but definitely needs to be re-evaluated to actually work properly.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-262862293964373637.post-22510950790884597742009-08-31T10:34:00.001-07:002009-09-08T18:30:09.561-07:00Melissa and Doug Cookie Set Review<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 140px; height: 140px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEifsZ8UXpH69TDfakVj91FICgVRoED0COprMU23YzCgJ8e0EPm_PwDuGR-vBxipvbc9PL3hgaio1muXn4HtHLEJRt9V8IPQOMuFpjN4oYfoW86R6ZaPJ9Ztm0ZxyyynkzasOvHKeMnEKcE/s400/cookies.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5379273893563670546" />

Here is another toy brought to you by The Melissa and Doug Slice and Bake playset is now one of my childrens favorite toys. This wood set comes with a baking tray, 12 cookies and 18 icings which all are held together with velcro. It also comes with a wooden spatula, which you use to scrape the cookies from the pan (velcro) and a wooden knife that is used to cut the cookies apart (again simulated with velcro). An oven mitt and a heavy cardboard tube in order to store the cookies, complete this set. On the back of the box it tells you different and creative ways to have your children play with these.
Both of my girls love this set, they love pretend play, following instructions and their kitchen set. I love fresh brewed hot coffee, but I also enjoy the convenience of instant coffee. I always have a container of instant coffee in my house since it only takes a few seconds to make. when I used to go to work my day job, I would always keep a container of taster's choice in my desk. It was always great to fall back on when the coffee would run out. Cute packaging with 6 samples of nescafe™ instant coffee, 100 % Colombian, gourmet roast, hazelnut, original gourmet, vanilla and decaffeinated. Just mix with 6 oz of hot water and voila, delicious hot tasty coffee.
My favorite is a toss up between the gourmet roast and hazelnut! This is the first time I tried the vanilla and I like it too! Although I love them all. There is always a swimming, a barbeque and endless nights sitting at our patio enjoying the night breeze, marshmallows and watching the neighborhood kids enjoy the last bits of their freedom. There is so much we would love to do, but with financial strains we had to figure out how to end our summer a little more frugally and a lot more creative. In just two steps you too can provide a fun outing for your kids too.
1. Pack it up. Whether you stay at home or go out you will need to eat. Right? So instead of spending money for food pack everything up at home and bring it with you.
2.Pick your destination. What? That's It! Yep
It doesn't take loads of money to make your summer memorable it just takes spending time with your family.

Need some free or really cheap ideas? Check out your local community calendar for festivals, events, and library programs. Go to the local park and watch a little league ball game. Go for a hike. Find a community pool, Many times people don't even know there is one, until they find out the local high school may have free swim times. Call and ask! Find an outdoor concert or a free movie under the stars. Go to a nearby beach or lake or state park. Get a frisbee and find a free folf course. Look it up if you don't know what it is. Now go have fun!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-262862293964373637.post-66738002324470354592009-08-25T20:20:00.000-07:002009-09-08T18:02:59.868-07:00Nabisco™ Classic Iced Animal Cookies<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 126px; height: 146px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh64z0dCux6adNvo_SPDxqb7Y1hUm9kknEZosuXYzZJCeFoyAcqEcA7pBd-P7eDZYiY_KY183pEPrAWu56SyD63oMI0iJye5Nnyo9ybE1iBxz34Xy0cexJ7ehhVlHJeqndhacGoEvFFMek/s200/cookies.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5374734019277953202" />
When I saw these cookies on the shelf, I was intrigued. These are the same type of cookies that were made by Mother's™ that went out of business in the end of 2008. But now Nabisco™ was making them? Honestly, cookies aren't really my thing, unless they are chocolate with a cream filling and a huge glass of milk. My kids on the other hand would gladly accept any kind of cookie they could get their little hands on.
At first glance/feel of this bag I thought these would be gone within 5 minutes. Each cookie is completely iced with a thick icing, which makes them super sweet and so I thought best about limiting my kids to four each. Any more and they would have been bouncing off the walls at bedtime. I ate 6, even though I said I would only eat 2 but they are strangely addicting. I decide I do really like these cookies after the fourth one. The icing has the texture of a milk chocolate candy bar, and the animal cracker inside makes it crunch. The kids love the pink, sprinkle adorned animals. I am going to use them to adorn the birthday cake that I am making for one of the neighbors kids. The colorful cookies will look great on it.
Now the main question is Would I buy these? Maybe! I know I said I like them, but because of the sugar content it is just not a great thing to have in my house, not to mention all of those artificial colors. I definitely will not be buying these on a regular basis, but if I like something I can always be enticed to buy it a great deal and a coupon.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com7tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-262862293964373637.post-25100152095954879432009-08-25T12:36:00.000-07:002009-08-25T14:51:54.710-07:00ABOUT MEMy name is Heather. Do we have to buy multiple sets of everything? I feel like I have
had the same conversation at least 15 times a week with my girls. They know the deal, Share. Any toy is up for grabs, whoever is playing with it first wins. They can play for a while then they have to hand it over or play together. There is a few exceptions... they each have their blanket and their dolly that they sleep with, they can share if they want, but if the owner wants/needs it, it is automatically returned. It elates me when I see them figure it out on their own.
It took a while, but now the constant fights had subsided and together they shared wonderfully. They would help each other build huge block buildings and each knew who's turn it is to knock it down. If I give them a treat, they were ready and willing to share with their sister. On the playground they take turns with the other kids. Finally, they get it!
So last week, we decided to start doing child care again. Not to overwhelm ourselves we took on one boy. First day went fine, I think the idea of having this new boy in our house was a little strange to the girls and to him. The 2nd day was filled with fun, we went on a nature walk, played with the girls train set, colored, and hide and seek.
The 3rd day not so great. He brought his assortment of dinosaurs, my girls have never played with dinosaurs, they were excited for a new toys. It took about a whole 2 minutes after his Mom left, to hear those dreaded words! THAT'S MINE! followed by a screech from my daughter. He had promptly put all of his toys in a pile and flopped on top of them. This is mine! I understand completely about kids and their toys.
So I decided to not take away his toys. I am going to try to solve this one right now and show all of the kids how to share.
My first step was to explain to my children that he didn't have siblings so he really didn't learn about sharing yet. So we had to patient and teach him. I think my 3 year old got it, my 2 year old not so much.
Next step was my conversation with the dinosaurs, Yes I know... don't say it! The dinosaurs all agreed they wanted lots of friends to play with.
Step three... conversation with the dinosaur trainer... this was the long drawn out one.... the conclusion was 1. you can play with your toys, in a room by yourself, OR 2. you can play with the girls toys with everyone OR 3. you can share your toys, make the dinosaurs happy and play in the playroom with everyone!
His decision was #3 and off he went to the living room dinosaurs in hand.... it took all of 2 minutes for him to get bored and walk in, and say Here! YAY.... maybe this won't be as hard as I thought. Finally a victory!
I took my two year old to the potty and while washing hands, I hear my 3 year olds voice! THAT'S MINE!
At least I was within arms reach of the asprin!Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-262862293964373637.post-3060111076313236422009-08-22T12:21:00.000-07:002009-09-08T18:20:50.197-07:00Melissa and Doug™ Magnetic Dress Up Dolls Review

Melissa and Doug™ have been leading the way in creative and imaginative toys. I am pleased to be reviewing the Melissa and Doug™ magnetic dress up dolls (ages 3+). The Melissa and Doug™ website now features 6 different sets of magnetic dolls prices ranging from 12.99 (one doll + clothes and accessories) to 29.99 (four dolls + clothes and accessories). My first thought when receiving the dolls..... what a great idea! I remember playing with paper dolls that lasted about a whole hour before the paper tabs broke off. I love the fact that these are sturdy wooden dolls, each doll comes with a wooden stand which fit our dolls snuggly. My daughters both happily went to work dressing the dolls and changing their outfits.
So the first time my girls played with this, they played non stop for almost two hours. Which is very, very good for my two girls. At first they were both happy just dressing the girls, until they realized they both really liked Joeys outfits. Joey can become a police officer, a knight, a pirate, a fireman, a construction worker or a superhero. My girls like to try to interchange the clothes a bit from doll to doll, but I notice that all the dolls are not the same size or standing the same way, so the clothes kind of awkwardly overlap or are too small. Doesn't seem to bother my girls much though.
I absolutely love the wooden trays that they are stored in. They are painted in bright colors and look great sitting on my girls bookcase. My only complaint with them is they really should have come with some kind of cover to prevent the pieces from falling out when my girls take them off the shelf.
My girls have three of these sets now and they still play with them 2-3 times a week. Which is exactly what I want in a toy. They have shown this dolls to all of their friends and we have found boys love it just as much as they do. Melissa and Doug™ definitely have a winner in these dolls. I would encourage them to put a little more thought into a cover for the box. They do have a good selection of dolls available on their website, but I would also suggest a female doll, that has outfits similar to Joeys.
These sets definitely get my recommendation for great imaginative fun.
<iframe src="http://rcm.amazon.com/e/cm?t=3girlsproduct-20&o=1&p=8&l=as1&asins=B000VO3HC8&fc1=000000&IS2=1<1=_blank&m=amazon&lc1=0000FF&bc1=000000&bg1=FFFFFF&f=ifr" style="width:120px;height:240px;" scrolling="no" marginwidth="0" marginheight="0" frameborder="0">Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0
